If you have an existing wired doorbell at your front door, then Wired Video Doorbell can be installed and powered using your existing doorbell wiring.
If you don’t have existing doorbell wiring but you do have an electrical socket near your front door, then you can use Plug-In Adapter to power Wired Video Doorbell. Plug-In Adapter features a long, 6 metre cable that connects to your Wired Video Doorbell and simply plugs into a standard UK electrical socket, for continuous power and peace of mind.
No, not in this case. To make installation simple, Wired Video Doorbell requires you to bypass the existing doorbell chime which means your existing chime will not sound. To continue hearing audio alerts in your home, pair Wired Video Doorbell with an existing Ring Chime, compatible Alexa device, or select the Wired Video Doorbell + Chime bundle.
If you have a Ring subscription, motion event videos captured by your Video Doorbell will be saved to your Ring account for up to 180 days. You can manage your video storage time through the Control Centre. Photos captured will be saved to your Ring account for up to 7 days, so you can review them at any time. More information about video storage can be found here Without a subscription, you can view real-time video for Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras and answer doorbell notifications as they happen, but your videos and photos will not be saved.
